Tokyo is magical. The people are shy but warm. Grandma and Uppa win over most everybody as usual. Dinner at a French cafe run by a Japanese couple.
She speaks a little English and he a little French. We figure it out. To bed at 9:30.
In no particular order:
Akihabara Sunday morning.
Akihabara Sunday evening. Turn around once with your eyes open and see more people than live in all of Alaska. James bought a watch from a carnival barker. Both he and the vender seem very pleased. He sifts through a bin of video games and ignores all the young ladies dressed as anime characters. Says the grownups don't get it. We don't try.
Tokyo skyline. Rainbow bridge. Arrived by boat, left by train.
Sega Joypolis. Tremendous noise, flashing lights, virtual boy band. Chuck E Cheese with catastrophic mood disorder before anyone gets the bill and takes the credit card. James loves it.
Uppa watching parade from hotel window.
Parade from hotel window.
Choices. Coffee? Soda? Beer? Mystery beverage? One of these on every corner.
Sansoji Temple.
